J. Gonzalez was born in Newark, NJ, but was raised in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Ever since childhood he knew he was destined to be an attorney. He was always good at conveying his perspective and some life struggles inspired him to pursue a career that would allow for a successful future. He was always told to "do better than his best" and that is exactly what he strives for.
Throughout his life he was frequently involved in the legal field and found it extremely fascinating. In high school he volunteered for Teen Court in Dare County and loved the experience. He attended UNC Wilmington and graduated with a bachelor degree in Criminology and a bachelor degree in Sociology, as well as a minor in Psychology. During his time at UNC Wilmington, he interned at the District Attorney’s Office for the 5th Judicial District. He went on to study at Campbell Law, where he interned for the District Attorney’s Office for the 1st Judicial District as well as a private law firm. During that summer he went back to his Teen Court roots and was acting judge for Dare County Teen Court as well.
After passing the bar he finally was able to realize his goal of being able to help those who were in trouble and could not advocate for themselves. He is here to zealously advocate and stand up for the interest of those whom he represents.
